With news of the launch, Cardi goes down in Rap Snacks history as the first artist to ever be given four flavors of the viral music-themed nourishment. Speaking with Complex about the updated roster of ingestible goods, CEO James Lindsay pointed to the complementary between the Cardi and Rap Snacks brand.
“Cardi B being featured on Rap Snacks is truly a great fit for what our brand stands for,” he said. “Rap Snacks is a brand that embraces the evolving hip-hop culture and promotes authenticity which mirrors what Cardi B represents. Just like Rap Snacks, Cardi B will always remain true to who she is.”
Lindsay noted that his personal favorite Cardi cuts are the collabs “Backin’ It Up,” “Ring,” and “Drip.”
The new Cardi-emblazoned flavors include chips of the Cheddar BBQ and Jerk BBQ variety, as well as Honey Drip Butter and Habanero Hot Cheese popcorn.
In addition to the Cardi collection, the Rap Snacks team is sharing new Migos flavors: Bar-B-Quin’ With My Honey With A Dab of Ranch wavy chips and White Cheddar With a Dab of Ranch cheese puffs. As you’ll recall, the Atlanta trio penned a whole song to accompany their previous Rap Snacks flavor launch back in 2016.
Back in December, the decades-strong Rap Snacks brand released a documentary chronicling the ins and outs of their Boss Up Entrepreneurship Program, which is designed to provide an an “enhanced entrepreneurship after-school and summer development program” for young people. The previous month, a package of Rap Snacks appeared on the cover of Boosie Badazz’s Boosie Blues Cafe album.
